Solace is quite simply Joplin at his most brilliant.
A slow and poignant serenade with a gentle tango rhythm,
this piece is not heard nearly often enough.
Works very well as a wind ensemble and is an excellent
antidote to the fast and trashy way much ragtime music is played.
